I was so excited when Steffi from Adventures of Steffi asked if we could do a written interview as part of the 'Community' prompt for #Mayonthemove2021 on Instagram. Basically, it's a month-long community-building event across cultures.

In the interview with Steffi, I discuss why I started a blog and my public Instagram account, and the amazing positive impact that 'putting myself out there in an online space' has had on my life - I've forged new friendships, I've expanded my career possibilities, and feel like a completely new and improved person. Sounds pretty extreme and overstated, right?! But it's true.

Steffi moved from the UK to Germany towards the end of 2019 - coincidently to Augsburg, making her a fellow Bavarian. Since then she has been writing all about her expat life in Germany, German culture and language (I'd say her German skills are much better than mine), as well as a bit of travel thrown into the mix. I must say, I love her honest reflections on various aspects of life and her vulnerability in telling not only the fun and happy stories, but also stories of the darker times. Her writing also has a nice dose of humour and an uplifting air to it.
If you're an expat in Germany (or anywhere) or if you're simply interested in German culture as seen from a fresh perspective, then I think you'll enjoy Adventures of Steffi. You can also find stunning photos of Germany on her Instagram feed.
