Finding joy, possibility, and hope after a period of darkness

I received some exciting news in January: a creative non-fiction piece that I submitted to the print literary magazine Capsule Stories was accepted for publication in their spring 2022 edition.

My piece, called Back in the Sun Again, will be a part of Capsule Stories’ spring 2022 theme of ‘Into the Light’. The brief was to write a piece about ‘growth and new possibilities after a long, dark winter.’ I was immediately drawn to this theme and wrote about my experience of coming out of the dark days of the pandemic after the birth of my second son, and finding my way through to a new life filled with writing, light, and joy.

If you would like to read my piece, as well as all the other amazing pieces that are included in this spring 2022 issue, then you can support the work of this wonderful independent magazine by purchasing a copy.

As a writer who has thus far written mostly on the internet, I am very excited to see some of my words in print!

If you are a writer interested in submitting to Capsule Stories yourself, you can read more about their submission process here. They publish a print edition centred around a particular theme for each season, but they also accept submissions to their blog year-round. They are drawn to ‘stories that can touch the heart. Stories that come from the heart.’
